Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention and Response
Activity Overview
Provides education, reporting mechanisms, and psychosocial support to prevent and respond to GBV, especially among girls and women.
Importance:
GBV severely impacts survivors’ mental, physical, and emotional well-being, especially in crisis settings. CRS works to prevent GBV and support survivors in reclaiming safety and dignity.
Example Activity:
Training refugee peer GBV champions who conduct awareness sessions and help link survivors with support services.
How We Do It:
- Conduct GBV awareness sessions and workshops.
- Provide confidential reporting mechanisms and safe spaces for survivors.
- Partner with medical and psychological service providers for referrals.
- Train staff in survivor-centered care and ethical response practices.
Impact:
Increased GBV case disclosures, improved survivor access to trauma counseling, and strengthened community support systems.
